I was offered a job and need to terminate my lease with short notice. I've provided notice in writing to my landlord (both via email and certified letter), as well as called several times, but I haven't gotten any sort of response from them. Do I have any further responsibilities or recourse?

Can the Landlord charge us for water even though it has been turned off for 2 days (December 1st and 2nd) due to a pipe bursting. We had no control over this and as a result they are still gonna charge us even though we have no running water in the apts for 2 days. What can we do?

I went to DCSE to have my support modified. My daughter just turned 17 on 4/12 & graduated high school 6/12. They said they STOPPED MY CHILD SUPPORT because they said she graduated! She has health issues & I need to find doctors where she will be going to college (in Hawaii). I need to file disability for myself. She JUST barely turned 17. Can they do that?

I was arrested in 2013 for disorderly conduct per DV and was released the next day. I received a deferred prosecution for 6 months with no fine. The charges are now dismissed. Do I still have wait 5 years to expunge my record to work at a school? I was told by a co-worker who is a Lieutenant of the police department, that any DV charge has to be expunged before being able to work around children.

My boyfreind is currently in prison but right before he was taken into custody we found out I was pregnant. Yes it is his and he acknowledges that. He left me with a power of attorney and it is still valid. I want to know can I use the power of attorney to put him as the father on the birth certificate? And how would I do this? would I just sign as if I were him?

This problem is strange. My daughter's ex-sister-in-law is demanding to have personal phone calls and visits with my 15 yr. old granddaughter and is usurping my daughter's parental authority. My daughter has informed her ex-sister-in-law she is forbidden any further personal contact with my granddaughter. The ex-sister-in-law lashed out saying she was taking my daughter to court. This woman is ludicris in thinking a legal case could ever get started. My daughter is a wonderful responsible mother and my granddaughter is having teenage tantrum issues. Question: Is this a legal case at all?

I was unable to complete a walk through at the time my lease ended, due to my partner being hospitalized and my work schedule. We were never provided with a list of damages or costs until being contacted by collections. I did provide my forwarding address and phone number but no contact was made. I saw they are supposed to provide the documentation within 14 days. I do not believe we had a security deposit, but if we never were provided documentation in a timely manner, are we able to contest collection fees and accrued interest?
