My lease is for a year, however my landlord notified me that she was selling her house and wants to buy me out of my lease which I still have 3 months left on it. How much should the lease buy out amount be? She is offering me $1000.00, I currently pay $1050.00 monthly for rent and have always been on time.

I am disabled and receiving food stamps (SNAP). I submitted a medical expense list with receipts. DES stated that they do not count dental or vision expenses (eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, dental exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals) or prescription medications which are not paid for every month. They did not address the cost of medical transportation (gas to get to medical appointments). I believe that these expenses should be counted as they are out of pocket medical expenses, and the total should be divided by the number of months in the eligibility period. Help!

The back sliding door in our rental home has a broken lock. I have requested repairs be done and the landlord said he would fix it but it has been over 6 months and it has still not been repaired. I do not feel safe in my home because I can not lock the door and someone could come in and harm me. What can I do to remedy this situation. Do I have any rights? Is this a health and safety issue? Is the landlord required to make sure the back door lock is in working condition?
