QUESTIONS

  • Are tenants obligated to work with owner in showing a house when landlord has put it up for sale? What is the lead time a realtor has to give a tenant to show house and how often can a house be shown in one month?
  • if my birth certificate only has my last name do i still have to pay to change my name?
  • I am SMI and severely physically and mentally disabled. I have trouble communicating. An employee that works in the office always treats me poorly and treats my non disabled friend and tenant normally. She recently called cops on me and tried to force me to leave office w/o info while discriminating against me talking about if I would “stop running [my] mouth” + more abuse. I still don’t have info. Makes it hard for me. Do I have recourse?
  • Have Lived at the same complex for the past 3 years. The complex has new owners for the past several months. Old management used to give me (at my request) a copy of my check with the stamp and /or signature of received. Deadline to pay the rent is the 3rd of each month. Now the new management refuses to hand me a receipt before the 4th of the month. My question is, where is the proof that I handed the check to them in time to avoid late fees? There lot of rumors among neighbors that they are trying to scare people out to renovate more units and raise the rent. What are my rights? Thank you.
  • I lived in apartment for 2yrs. Carpet was new. Contract was up 11/30/18 and completed the walk-through on 11/28. At the walk-through we were told that everything was fine except a stain on the countertop which we were told that we would probably have to pay for. Two weeks later I get a letter that I have to pay to replace the carpet because it's worn more than the 36 month life limit. I have pictures of the carpet and it is not worn nor dirty.
  • I found out when I was in my twenties that the father on my birth certificate is not my biological father. How can I get that corrected?, The man on my birth cert is deceased.
  • Is it legal for creditors to obtain garnishments from a consumer's bank account?
  • I applied for veteran's court here in Anoka County, MN. I was sentenced at traditional court with 120 days forthwith and then a staggered sentence totalling 365 days. As part of my sentence I am now required to complete veteran's treatment after my release from incarceration. When I applied for veteran's court I was under the impression that it was in lieu of incarceration. Also I was not offered a stay of adjudication, only a stay of imposition. There seems to be no incentive for vet's court for me other than I have to do it or get a probation violation. Is that legal?
  • I am divorced and my ex left AZ after. My children are with me but he still has partial custody. He has not contacted or seen the children in 3+yrs. No card, call or anything. My current husband would like to legally become their father. I have no idea where my ex is or how to even contact him. I have an agency searching for him for non payment of child support and they cannot even find him! Could you tell me how to dissolve his rights as father so that my current husband can make them his kids since that is who they call dad. I also want his rights taken away because if anything were to happen to me I don't want him to be able to come in and take them because they wouldn't know him or feel safe with him because of past events.
  • Can I use the Dissolution papers for Maricopa County Superior Court to file in Navajo County? Since Navajo County does not provide these forms online.
