Recently in my apartment the refrigerator went out andwas repaired by a repair man the manager sent over and the repairman stated that for me to write out a list of food that was lost and take to the office.this was done and I also sign the paper stating that this in fact did happen.the manager stated that under normal situation the landlord is not responsible for the food that was lost,but because the repairman stated that he would make sure I would get paid for food lost.I would have to take this up with my insurance (Renter's insurance) about $75-100 worth of groceries.The manager has offered to deduct $75 dollars off of rent for the following month,and i agreed to this. The question is am I to be responsible for food that was lost ,when the appliance came with the apartment?this is not the first time this has happen to me.should I contact my insurance company regarding this issue?

I am a PhD student at a private university. My program was sold to me as a 3.5 year program. I started the program in February of 2015 and had a completion date of July 2018. This is indicated on my student loan document. Through 2016 and 2017 had been working on an approved dissertation. In January of 2018, (6 months prior to finishing) I was informed my dissertation was no longer approved and I would need to start a new one. This extends my program by more than a year. I have recently filed a petition to move out of state with my 2 yr old son. His father and I divorced when he was 1 yr old. I have my sons only sibling and have been his primary care taker since birth. I am remarried and expecting a child. My husband is stationed in the military. Everything I read makes me feel like I will have to relocate with out my son and that the courts favor with the non-moving parent. What is the likely hood of the courts making me leave him given the circumstances, and will they really separate siblings who have been together?

In Sept 2017 I signed a lease with XXXXX apt. Rent was behind 2 months. Never received an eviction notice, but my locks did get changed, and always in contact with Leasing Manager. I showed up with rent for both months, and she said, no I am not going to rent I am going to evict you. So, I left came back for my stuff, and Feb 2018 I get a bill for $18k that I need to pay for the 12 months. Is that legal?

For the past 4 months my landlord has put the wrong name on my rent statement. All paid on time and signed by them but my name on the agreement is wrong by their doing. Could this effect me? What if I'm not getting the credit for all my paid on time rent?

I have rented this house for 8 years now. I have been fighting with my landlord because they do not fix anything. My stove was falling apart and I had to buy a new one. The most important thing is the old a/c unit used to clog and leak. It caused water to leak into the linen closet inside front bathroom. The old repair guy came out and took pictures but never came back. The property manager came out and took pictures because there is mold in that bathroom,m. My landlord has not fixed it, I cannot afford to move because I am helping my daughter with nursing school. What can I do?
