QUESTIONS

  • My landlord is requesting pictures of my minor children submitted with a new lease agreement. I would like to protect the anonymity of my children. Would the landlord be able to decline my lease without submitting pictures of my children?
  • I rent a condo. the condo has a non attached garage. I have had the garage for 2 years. Now landlord gave me three days to clear it out and can no longer have the garage. Is that leagal.
  • We found mold and water damage in our unit. The landlord put me in a hotel for 8 days and then said i will have to find somewhere else to stay because the issue would take 2 months and the unit would be uninhabitable. She then wants me to just go find somewhere to live for the time it is getting fixed. Isnt she supposed to provide me somewhere to stay while this gets fixed? She wants to return my rent for a prorated amount for the 8 days i was in a hotel. Shouldn't she give me the full rent back if the hotel didn't have a kitchen and was noy equivilent to what i was renting?
  • My landlord sent an email for us to pay past due rent by a certain date. We have been unable to do so. • How many employees must an employer have to fall under Arizona's age discrimination laws
  • I would like to know if I'm still eligible for cash assistance for my son (I'm not his birth mother)under the kinship program. I was told by a friend I could receive cash, but I know nothing about this. Because at my last appointment I was told I could no longer receive cash assistance for him .I'm up for recertification for medical, foodstamps and cash, if I can still receive it for him.
  • Can I be charged rent if I do not reside in the house anymore?
  • My father in law had a stroke in April of 2013 and has been unable to pay his credit card debts including a home equity line of credit through State Farm. He owns a home here here in Phx but has since been relocated to be with other family members in Napa, Ca. in a group home. He receives his usual SS benefits and a small pension of $120 per month, he is also getting his aid and attendance from the V.A. The problem is this, all of his benefits go to his care and he is unable to pay his credit card debts. Since he is no longer living here we are paying his house payment along with the State Farm home equity line of credit since that is like a second mortgage I believe. My question is how do we keep the house in the family and eliminate his credit card debt? which is probably around $20,000. The house doesn't have any equity in it or if it does, it's not much. Thank You
  • My apartment building outside lighting doesn’t turn on until way past sunset. I have submitter in writing using the managements website form asking for the lights to be turned on earlier due to it being a safety and security issue. I received a response 2 months later saying the request was complicated. However nothing was changed. This week I tripped in the dark and broke the screen on my cell phone. Can I get the repair costs paid for by the management company either by working with them or through small claims court?
  • can the landlord request only bank checks for rent due to his employee was stealing money orders? because it costs me $8.00 a check to make.
