  • The apartments i am living in currently are using a third party billing system for water, sewer and trash based out of Utah. I receive a bill each month that is steadily getting higher, while I am the only person living in the apartment. Is this legal?
  • I think I am being scammed. I received a letter from a previous business firm with a demand to pay. There is no account number, no return address and no signature on the abnormal letter head. How can I tell?

  • I was given exclusive use of our residence in my OOP. Is my husband still required to pay his half of the rent even though he was required to leave the residence?
  • My landlord and I agreed upon me sending him 12 post dated checks for each month of my lease to be deposited on the appropriate month. After 6 months renting from him I closed my account due to fraudulent activity and have decided not to open another. I notified my landlord of the closure and advised I would be either mailing or making a direct deposit into his account going forward. I have never been late with my rent and my landlord is now telling me that the post dated checks are a requirement of my lease. Again, we agreed on the checks but I never understood it as a requirement.
