If I have legal sole custody of my child, what rights does the other parent have in regard to visitation? Other parent has never been involved, which is why I have sole custody and she has my last name, but he recently decided he wants visitation. He expects unsupervised visits and upon his availability. Also, what should I do to protect mine and my baby’s (15 months) rights? I’m assuming it’s not so simple to just come in and get visitation rights after not being involved at all for all those months.

"When parents are unmarried and no order has been entered to establish parental rights, the biological father has no legal right to either custody or parenting time until paternity is established." I read this in a question on the website and I was wondering if the child has the fathers last name, does it still mean they have no legal rights until official paternity has been established?

Hello, my lease explicitly states that 30 days notice prior to lease ending date is required if I wanted to move out after the lease is up. At the last second we just decided that we are going to move. What penalties would I be facing monetarily speaking for not giving my landlord 30 days notice. Today is October 30th 2017. My lease states that ends November 1st 2017. However in the lease agreement we agreed that rent would be due on the 5th each month. So technically I'm paid up through the 5th of November.

My child is 7 years old , I’ve been an only parent for nearly all of that time with the non custodial parent making inconsistent monthly visits for the first year of life and completely disappearing for the next 6 (by own choice). My child was unaware non custodial parent existed . They show up months ago requesting to meet child & now is demanding parenting time . Essentially I feel as though my child was abandoned by none custodial parent & would like to know what rights to custody and parenting time the absent parent is allotted to if any after being absent for 6 years?

My roommate left a month ago to go back East to visit family. When he left as far as I knew he had every intention of returning. I have not heard from him in 3 weeks now. He is not returning my calls. He left his car in my garage & other personal items. I own the house & he rented a room. How long do I have to wait to get rid of his stuff? Also, what do I do with his car?
