I currently own a home which I live in and have a tenant. There is no signed lease agreement, just a verbal month to month. He has not paid his rent and continues to give me the run around and has not been at the house since the 1st which is when rent is due. I have continually contacted him via text message and told him if he does not pay he leaves. He has promised everyday to pay and has not even come home. Last night he promised via text to pack his stuff and leave if I did not have the money by the end of the day yesterday. Can I just change the locks and pack his stuff?

I work in the construction industry as a foreman and have to stop by the office most mornings and afternoons to look at project packets, file time cards, and gather necessary tools for the jobsite. The company does not compensate me for this time at all. Is this illegal? Who do I report it to? In addition, I was recently fired for complaining about this as well as many other safety issues.

My boyfriend and I (never married) had our son in TX and upon our agreeing to split decided to a three month rotation until he was old enough for school at which point I agreed to live where his father was so we could do one week on and one week off. I moved back to AZ and went to pick him up in TX after 3 months for my turn only to find out he moved from our house and is refusing me to tell him where he is unless I sign full custody to him. I calledthe police but in TX we both have 50/50 until a court were to say otherwise. Can I file for custody in AZ without him in my possesion?

The father of my son has his name on the birth cirtificate and also my son has his last name. But over the last 6 months, his father has shown no real interest in wanting to see him and hasn't helped pay for any expenses. My question is, is there anyway I can get my sons last name changed to mine so his father can't decide to come back into the picture a few years from now and try to get custody?

I was cited for driving on a suspended license. I did not know my license had been suspended. I read that this criminal charge can result in jail time and fines. This is my first criminal offense. Should I get legal counsel? What are they typical rulings for first time offenders? I have been laid off and am not working, how to I get a public defender's help? Thank you in advance for your advice.
