when a commisioner signes a court order with /s/ instead of a real signature, is this still a legal signature. I was reading that if a judge wasn't to sign a court order that it mean other things - this is why I ask.

My husband is a insecure controlling emotionally and verbally abusive towards me and his crazy mom. He is an electrician and was only working 6 months a year to get a $6500 tax refund which he would spend on his stuff and buys the kids, under age 10 expensive electronics to keep them happy. He doesn't buy me ---- anymore for the last 5 years. He's telling me that since I'm an unfit mom, take care of kids 24/7 and his mom while to works in Contra Costa County 5 or 6 days a week. My father is 94 and is in critical condition. We checked his will for the first time and we have some concerns. His will was made out in 1988 when he was a widower and had 4 adult live children. He since has remarried and lost two children. Is this will null because of the change circumstances?

I have filed for divorce. I did this on January 28, 2008. I cannot afford an attorney so I am having to do this on my own. I also filed a petition for temporary orders. The hearing is on the 22nd of February. I did not understand the instructions to serve my husband. I took the papers to the sheriff's office on February 4. What happens if my husband doesn't get served on time? I just mailed the order to appear yesterday, 2-13.

If your apartment floods due to the negligence of another apartment owner and you are required to move into a model unit temporarily, is rent still owed? I have read that rent for that current month is not but what if it takes longer than 30 days to fix the apartment?

Are verbal contracts a legal contract? Was buying a car from a friend, car title & registration left in friends name, insurance in my name, never late on a payment, friend sold car out from under me, I had put alot of money into the car. Is there anything I can do? The law officer that came when car was taken said I could file a civel law case, is this true?
