I was served with a civil court summons for an unpaid credit card debt.I was told before I stopped paying them,that it is an unsecured debt and I could not be force to pay it.two other banks that i couldn't pay any more have all ready written off debt as a bad debt.I have 20 days to respond in writing to the complaint. Can i be force to pay this by the court on this unsecured loan

My Father passed away on 9/2/15, he did not have a will so the paperwork has been submitted to probate. He had a room mate that lived there for 3 years and never paid rent. Now the Air conditioning is broken and he wants me to fix it, am I legally responsible to fix this?

My ex-wife left my son with me in August 2007 and moved to San Antonio, TX. On 5/19/2008 she came to my son's school and took him out and put him on a plane back to San Antonio. Even though she has sole custody the law states that she is suppose to give me 60 days notice before he can be considered to be moved to a different state. How do I get a court sanction?

My mother passed away 5 weeks ago. She didn't have a will. My sister and I both were on a few bank accounts for wells fargo of hers but not on her IRA account and a US bank account. My mom had no debt, no house, no cars just these bank accounts. I need help, do I get a lawyer? I am unsure of how much the IRA is I am pretty sure it is under 75,000 but what if it isn't? Do you have advise of what type of lawyer to get.. any recommendations?
