  • I rented an apartment for 1 year, then bought a house. Three times scheduled a walk through & manger did not show. The apartment was clean and in great condition. They still kept my deposit & are charging me an additional $260 for a old broken closet wheel, Painting for next tenant & blinds. I have pictures the place was clean & in the same condition I got. The damaged blinds I replaced. I disputed the charges but it was sent to collections how do I fight this? Its now been 2 years am I reactivating a dormant debt?
  • I have had a serious leak in my garage from rain for just over 2 years. The landlord keeps having me tale time out of my day to meet with roofers that patch things but do not fix. when its not fixed he will hire a different roofer because they all tell him all the tile needs to be pulled up and redone. it is still not fixed and we are having mold issues. I have buckets to collect water in the 2 spots it leaked every time it rains. I have taken several hours off work for this and still nothing is correct. What can I do as a renter to get this fixed?

  • Hi, I have a few questions. I have a landlord that recently told me the rent was going up by 200 dollars with about a 2 week notice via text message. Is that legal? Also, I had told her I was having an issue with foul odors coming from the hall restroom and requested her send a plumber or her handyman. This problem has been brought up to her previously as well and no action was taken on her part. She actually got upset with me at the request. She then by text again said she should have raised my rent to 1250 if she knew I was going to "complain". We also are having ac problems . Please help
  • Our leasing company who operates nation wide told me their contractors are legally obligated to tell them if they see or hear pets. (We don’t have one but our neighbors does, these houses are squished together) now they are trying to force fees with out me signing anything. Roommate said she was moving out multiple times but never did when deadline came. Roommate agreed to a lease amendment and move out in 30days but never signed. Instead roommate got an order of protection and had me & my son removed from home. eviction occurred. Paid writ of restitution and geot new lease. While barred from premise roommate stole $20 of property $3k of which was 3rd party’s. Is the 3rd party property theft criminal or civil?
