I made a huge mistake by cosigning on a car loan for a girlfriend back on 09/15/08. She only made 9 payments on the vehicle then let it go back to the bank. It’s been almost 6-1/2 years since she made her last payment and now they’re coming after me, after all these years have gone by. I was told that Arizona Statute of Limitations A.R.S. § 47-2725 is four (4) years for auto loans. But their attorney is ignoring that and coming after me regardless. It's now October 2015 and they are coming after me for the loan amount + interest totaling $13,000 altogether. I'm retired and living solely on Social Security of $1,776 per month and two small pensions totaling $624 which = $2,400 per month. And I'm living with my daughter to make ends meet. Therefore I can't afford to pay theses people. I had an initial pre-trial conference on 10/8/15 and represented myself because I can’t afford an attorney. It was determined that there will be a trial on 12/14/15. I told the loan company in court “that I have no money and living on $2,400 per month and living with my daughter to make ends meet, and they’re still pursuing the trial date. My questions are: 1) Will the Arizona Statute of Limitations A.R.S. § 47-2725 four (4) years get me out of this mess completely? 2) I've been told and read online that Social Security income and Pensions “cannot be garnished”. Do you know if this is true? If it's true then I have nothing to worry about and won't need to file bankruptcy. 3) If I lose my case can I file bankruptcy on a judgement that's been awarded against me? 4) Can they levy / garnish my checking account where my Social Security checks and Pension checks are electronically deposited? In 2005, I had double strokes which left me unable to walk, memory loss,or to feed myself. My youngester daughter always took care of me. During that time I lived by myself in my home. My only son volunteered to stay with me in my home and take care of me. He lied to me in Dec. '06 and made me sign over the title of my home. He no longer wanted to take care of me so he told my oldest daughter to take me for the weekend while he changed the locks to my home. My oldest daughter then took me to my grandaughter's home and left me there. Now I am living with my youngest daughter and want my home back. I was in no mental condition to know what was going on, I trusted my only son.

I pay spousal maitenance monthly to Support Payment Clearing House directy, in the form of a check. The divorce decree that is on record has a date listed as the final date or last payment to be payed through January 31, 2019. Do I need to fill any additional closure documents or just send the last payment when due? It is not withheld from my paycheck. I write the check. Not sure if I need to file anything or if they get it per the decree.

We just rented a house was by management they were replacing the carpet. After we applied they said the owner said are replacing living room carpet and the rest which is ok but now that the has dried and the chemical smell gone is a strong scent coming from rooms. We signed lease week ago and everything with getting this house ready for move in been a battle with this management company. What are the laws about having urine soaked carpets a rental and having them replaced? There is huge health issues with having to breath in that smell. What are rights?

My husband has had 2 work related injuries where he suffered concussions, traumatic brain injuries & frontal lobe brain injury. Over time, his personality is changing for the worse & he's constantly verbally abusining me & my daughter & he completely loses his temper over nothing. Now he's threatening to open a new account for his SSD income & for the work comp annuity which is the majority of our income. He says he wants a divorce & is going to get an apartment & he's going to stop making the house payments. I know this is due to his TBI but what can we do to protect ourselves?
