I rented a house. Put down deposit and first month rent. Owner was still workig on house when I moved in and used my utilities to do roof and stucco house. Never got gas turned on because he did not get a permit and was fined. Only had electric in one bedroom. Had no cooling and no hot water. Then I got a 10 notice to get out and I had only been in house for 15 days. I requested my deposit back and some of the eletric paid on a 200 dollar bill. I signed with a leasing company and now they say I have to contact the owner but wont give my any contact information. What can I do?

Our landlord has decided to upgrade/renovate all apartments and says we have to move into another apartment either temporarily or permanently (our choice). This will cause inconvenience, time, energy, and money since some of us will need help moving furniture. Must they pay moving expenses, move our belongings for us, or compensate in any way? Can we terminate our lease (mine is up in a couple of months) because we are forced to move all of our belongings out? I'm thinking if I have to move everything out anyway, that perhaps I should just move altogether. The apartments are in good shape.... nothing wrong with them. What are my rights? How much notice do they have to give us? Btw.... I have housing assistance. Thank you

We signed a 4 month lease at an RV Storage facility to rent a 60' space for our 20' trailer, because we were told only 60' spaces were available. After parking the trailer in the assigned space we discovered it is not 60' but 40', which rents for $75 per month. The facility continues to insist it's a 60' space, refuses to measure it & refuses to change our rental rate to $75. They only offer to move us to "another" 60' space as a solution. Is it legal for them to overcharge us like this? What recourse do we have? We suspect they're doing this to others. Isn't this fraud? What rights do we have

I am renting part of a unit where there are three other roommates. None of us knew each other. Landlord put us together as sudents. They party all the time. I cannot sleep or study. Can I get out of my lease. I cannot pay this rent and afford another place at the same time. If he serves eviction notice to all of us, do I still owe him the rent for the remainder of the lease. Other tenants are happy.
