QUESTIONS

  • I and my children's father have been divorced for several years. The children are very comfortable with my boyfriend and I trust him explicitly. Recently, one of the children was injured at school. Administration attempted to contact me, but I was unavailable, as was my ex. My boyfriend is listed as an emergency contact but has no decision making rights over the kids. Can I afford him POA to make those decisions without the consent of my ex?

  • I am filling out the paper work "application to set aside a misdemeanor" and Im not sure if I have to get a notary for my signature at the bottom or if I leave that section blank for the court. It says "Subscribed and sworn before me on this date: by:" I am not sure who fills out this section which is followed by a notary. Please advise!
  • Say a debt collector calls you, and you offer a monthly payment because thats is all you can afford. They say no thats not enough, you have to pay more.Then when you tell them you cannot afford anything more. they threaten to garnish your wages. It has been quite sometime since they have sent me any corospondance in regard to this debt, and so I thought it had been written off due to the facit it is on my credit as a bad debt. What  should I do in this matter?

  • a friend if mine is incarcerated and wishes to give me parental rights over his 9 year old son who is now a ward of the state, after being sent letters asking him if he had a family or friend with which he would want the child placed but DCS never attempted to place the child with me as he asked. this has been going on almost a year. I once had guardianship of the child when he was 3 months old until he was alnoay a year, and have known the father since the biological mother, now deceased, was pregnant. They are like family to me. we have been trying to find out if he can give me parentals
  • We live in a 55+ Mobile home park. My dad & mom bought it about 8 or so years ago for me. They lived in it and are on the rental agreement But I'm the owner and not on the rental agreement. But my Husband and I have been living here for about 4/5 years now we pay the lot rent and the utilities. He knows we're here but every time our son comes to visit he always stops him and gives him a hard time which then he comes at us with mailed forms for instance telling us we can't be here after knowing we're here and I own the trailer. There's a lot more as well.. Need legal advice.. This is our home.
  • Mtg of my apt complex wrote my contract for 5 month but noted it is a 6 mo contract. It was to be a 6 month contract not 5. what shall I do? Noted in the contract says I have to give a 30 day notice to vacate which would have been the end of Jan.
  • We are on a month to month lease with 60 notice to vacate. We are actually vacating after 30 days, leaving the house empty (but open to potential new tenants) for the remainder of the terms. Who is responsible for the utilities during that time? I don't want someone to leave a light on and be charged for it after we have turned the property back over the the management company.
