I started divorce proceedings against my husband but now he is dying from liver failure and on hospice. Which is to my advantage, the divorce or remaining married, we are separated now. This is purely a debt issue because of medical and other outstanding bills of his. I am disabled and live on my SS and he has no income being unemployed for over 2 years but recently accepted to ahccs.

My father passed away before he could make me the beneficiary of his Arizona State Retirement. His wish was to ensure that this was done and was verbal regarding the issue. Do I have any recourse as his child and next of kin to have it switched to me as beneficiary? Thanks

I would like to know the law regarding children visiting family members outside the state. i understand that a parent can't take a child out of state without the others permission, but can children go visit family members without the other parent standing in the way/ My ex prevented my children from visiting HIS family over the winter vacation, because he would not give consent and told everyone that they would be violating a court order if they went. is that true or can the children leave the state if they are not with a parent/

My husband and I were married in 2008 on our marriage license I have his last name but I never officially started using it. I now want to have his last name. How do I go about that process. I was wondering if I have to petition the courts for a change of name since it has been so long or just take my marriage license into the social security office and have it done?

Instead of sending rent directly to him, my landlord has had me mail my rent as deposits straight to his bank. I have been using automatic bill pay through my bank, so it's been a hands off process for all involved. He just hit me with a five day notice to pay or vacate, claiming he is owed $11,000+ since April of last year! Is there anything in the law that protects a tenant from a landlord claiming non-receipt of payment months later if my payments in fact were lost and cashed by a 3rd party as it seems to be in this case?
