QUESTIONS

  • I signed a year lease, and moved into these apartments on 12-14-2012. That lease ended 12-31-2013, but we wanted to stay in the complex, but in a downstairs unit. None were available then, so I signed what should have been a 3 month lease, but when I read it again, it shows the lease started on 4-1-2014, and terminates on 3-31-2015. We finally moved downstairs, and I signed a year lease on 5-19-2014, that terminates on 4-30-2015. My landlord is "renovating" and isn't renewing my lease. However, she has the terminating date as 3-31-2015, which was the old lease's date. What should I do?
  • We gave a deposit hold to a real estate agent who said it was to keep our application in first place. In order to rent the house, they were needing 6 months rent ahead of time. She received the hold on the 16th, we submitted an incomplete application on the 17th and on the 21st she requested the remainder. On the 22 I informed her that we would not be able to provide the 6 months of prepaid rent to her as we originally thought and that otherwise we were not eligible to rent the property. She is now saying that we have no right to our hold. On the application it says deposits can be refunded
  • my grandsons mother refuses to let my son see his son they were never married his name is on the birth cert. and until the end of july she only seen him once in a while my question is--can she legally keep him from seen his son

Tenant was notified of the uninhabitable condition on Dec 11, met me at the property on Dec16, and offered to replace carpeting with tile. I provided written notice of uninhabitable condition on Dec 16 as well. I'd like to know several things: 1) do I have a right to demand mold inspection and remediation? 2) landlord has suspended rent as of 16th, but am I entitled to storage, moving, and/or living expenses while repairs are being completed?
