QUESTIONS

  • Should I be held responsible for the HELOC on my house held by a different bank than my first mortgage that was foreclosed upon?
  • My mother, who lives in Wisconsin, has guardianship of her minor grandson. She has been his guardian for about 7 years (since the death of his father in 2007). The minor's biological mother is living, but her whereabouts has been unknown for the same time. My mother is currently receiving financial support from the state for the minor. My mother also has to re-apply each year to continue guardianship. My mother wants to relocate to Arizona with the minor. My question is: 1.can my mother leave the state of Wisconsin with the minor?
  • A girl was staying with me for 2 months and I never drafted a lease, she threatened the domain of my home as far as personal property is concerned and was completely insubordinate whether it be cleanliness, punctuality so on and so forth. In the end I kicked her out. What legal right if any is in her favor? To my understanding she was never a legal tenant so I would think almost next to none.

  • One of my friends is 17 (18 in less than a month) and is graduating. She used to live with her mother in Georgia, and was promised a better life, but when she came out here, her father forced her to watch her little sister and brother. Her brother is autistic, and she can't keep watching him. Is there any way she can get out of this legally? Her schooling and her career are both suffering.

  • I let a friend of mine live in my house rent free for about 7 months after she had a baby. I babysat and cared for the child while she worked and never charged her any money for childcare. After 7 months, she moved out but left most of her personal belongings in my house. It has now been 8 months since she left. How long does the law state that she has to come back and claim her belongings before her property is considered abandoned. And then do I legally take ownership of her property? I have also loaned her money which she has not paid back yet. Please advise. Thank you.
