I can't afford an attorney even through the modest means program & no one is willing to help me pro bono. I filed for divorce from my abusive husband & we reached a settlement agreement on 4/28/16. But he continues to use the judicial system to make false accusations against me & keep me in court. How can I stop this harassment, and why won't any attorneys help me pro bono? So many claim to be DV advocates but no one is advocating for me & my daugher.

My ex stole my dog. I adopted her while we were dating, her adoption paperwork is in my name ONLY. We have since broken up, and he took her without my permission and will not return her. One cop said it's theft of personal property, but suggested trying to deal with it directly with my ex first, then follow up if she wasn't returned. I followed up and the next cop I talked to said it's not theft of personal property because I adopted her while in the relationship with my ex, and the adoption paper doesn't matter even if my ex and I were never married so it's not a criminal issue. Is this true?

My friends want to give me custody of their 2 year old son, since neither is stable enough at the moment. We all agree that if we can do this, that they should still be in his life as his parents. How would we be able to go about this? Would we be able to have joint custody between the parents and a non-parent?

My granddaughter currently lives with her maternal grandfather (he has guardianship of her) The biological parents are NOT involved. Both have had drug addiction problems. When my son, granddaughters father, moved back home the guardian would not allow me to see my granddaughter. I was taking her every weekend for several months until I got a job over nights and every other weekend. Then I took her on my weekends off for over a yr. Shes always been part of my life. I believeI I contribute to her happiness and well-being. How do I get visitation rights?
