What do I need to do to change one of my daughters last name. My domestic partner is not the biological father but he has been there with my daughter and i since about 3 months into my pregnancy. My daughter currently has my last name but both my partner and i want to change her last name to his. Her biological father isnt in the birth certificate nor in her life. And she is 1. What are the steps to change her last name?

I have been trying to get my misdemeanor assault conviction sealed or set aside for months. I was charged 5 years ago and didn't complete my court order counseling and had to serve jail time. I tried to get a set aside order but was denied due to incompletion of probation. I cant work this this on my record and need to know where to go from here

I moved in the 4th of July weekend, signing a 1 year lease, which will convert to month-to-month after the 1st year. On 12/31/15 I received a notice that they were raising my "tax" amount effective 2/1/16 - is this legal? And once the lease becomes month-to-month and you agree to a rental amount increase (which is sure to come), do you legally have to sign the agreement which is the same format as a "1 year" lease? Is it also possible to receive a copy of the "Landlord/Tenant Handbook"?

My ex wife and I have been divorced for 18 months and it involved two kids. Our divorce decree and final agreement is filed in Rogers County Oklahoma. I now live in Arizona and have since the separation in May of 05. This summer my son came to visit and he has been asking his mom if he could live here and she gave me written and verbal permission that he could and now he has been here for 3 months with the agreement that we would modify the final agreement and child support. He is enrolled in school and school activities and after school activities and is doing very well. She is now wanting him to come back to Oklahoma and I want to file documents to keep her from doing this........can I do it here in Arizona or does he have to be here for a certain amount of time? Where can I go to get more info on the net?

My 70 year old mother currently lives in Show Low Arizona and is going to be leaving her husband. Can she file the paperwork via the Internet or can she file it in a court in Phoenix? Also, she is on Social Security and gets a small SSI check. Her husband gets a small SSI check. She makes less than $700 a month - do you know if she will have to pay alimony? She thinks when she moves that she may loose her SSI money and that her husbands amount will increase. Can you please comment on this?

I was charged with disorderly conduct-fighting.I spent the night in jail. I plead not guilty and walked out. I believed I would be able to have an public defender because of my low income and spending the night in jail. I believed 100% I would be provided an attorney. I forgot to mention that the said truck was in fact my personal truck and my son had the privilege of driving it, I would not have this charge. I have 3 children their father has been in and out of prison since 2004, their last actual contact with him was in 2005. can i file for a severance under abandonment statue? He was released in 2007 and had certain court orders to abide by in order to recieve supervised visitation he failed to do so. What must i prove that he has abandone my children since I have been the sole provider for them with no help physically, financially from their father.

Is it legal for a landlord to put into our lease a statement that says "If for any reason during the duration of this lease agreement the relationship between Lessor and Lessee is soured, Landlord reserves the right to serve a 30 day written notice to vacate." Isn't this unconscionable? And shouldn't any ability to break a contract be fair to both parties?
