  • We live with and care for my father in law who told us today that he is moving into assisted living and we must move out. We rented the house we own, what sort of notice must we give our tenants?
  • I am currently renting a condo. The back fence of this condo is "leaning" over badly, and the back gate is not secure to keep "preditors" or unwanted people out. I feel that these issues should be addressed. In my walk-thru I have written these down. The landlord and owner of property know about this and have done nothing. Can I ask them again to address these issues? What is the law for them fixing these issues and do they have to?
  • On 1/2/07 my husband was taken to court by his daughter's Mother for child support. He was ordered to pay the previous 3 yrs of arrears even though the mother had moved the child and had no contact with my husband for 8 yrs. In the paperwork, he was allowed to claim her 2 of every 3 yrs on taxes, but she will not give him the SSN# of the child. What can he do to obtain this information? The SSA office will not assist him with the BC of the child and his DL. What can we do?
  • I need to take medicine 3 times while at work, can they tell me i can't go to my car to take it
  • Is it legal for a caregiver to take funds from their patients and can you give case precedents? Also does this apply to power of attorney too?
  • My power was recently turned off my APS without any notice. This was a discrepancy in billing due to an error on their side. I had no idea there was even an issue. According to them I needed to make a deposit payment to a separate account that I was not aware of. The person who set up the account did not notify me of this and made an error inputting the deposit amount. My dog was in out house with no AC while we were working and it was 105 degrees outside. I was wondering if it is legal for them to turn off our power when it is over 100 degrees without any notice.
  • we had no electric in one room of our rental for 9 months. It would sometimes flicker when we jumped on the floor or slammed the door. We contacted the landlord several times to repair it. We have several text messages stating such. The cost to repair was more than 50% of our rent. We gave our 30 day notice on July 2 for August 1st after months of trying to get this repaired. Our landlord checked us out on Aug 1 stating everything was perfect and we would receive all of our deposit back in 14 business days. Our total deposit was $1850- we received $300. They stated we did not give them notice
  • I have raised my granddaughter since she was born. Her mother gave her to me in 2013 and never came back. She calls sometimes and comes to see her every few months. The baby's father is in prison and has had no contact with the child except for a few cards he has sent over the last 3 years. Can I file for custody due to abandonment?
  • I received a notice from the IRS saying that they will levy my Social Security check for non-payment of taxes. I am 70 years old. My only source of income is Social Security of $1798 per month. I have no assets. I live in an Assisted Living facility which I pay room and board of $1649 from SocSec and ALTCS benefits pay the balance. I am left with $109 per month for personal needs. Can the IRS levy 15% of my Soc Sec? How do I stop this levy?
