  • I have a 10 month old son, I was not married to the father, he is on the birthcertificate, we have lived together not as a couple but raising him since his birth, I want to move to another state to live with a family member to start my life over, I have received mixed legal advise on this, there are NO documents in place determining custody etc,Do I have custody since I am his mother like other states and can I leave without any legal consequences?
  • I went to the EEOC to discuss my seperation with my employers. They agreed it was unfair but could not help me because we didn't have over 16 employees in the office.(only 9) They suggested I contact an attorney, however when contacting those on the list I was given they all wanted a consultation fee of 300. or more. Is there an attorney I would talk to just to see what my rights are at no charge. I am still un-employed after 6 months!
  • My husband had what was deemed by a Dr. at Mayo as necessary surgery in 2008. All insurance info was provided and they knew he was Medicare. No one said a word about the possibility of no coverage. Now, 3 yrs. later, medicare has said they won't pay the claim and Mayo has said we owe $10,000 which would be impossible to pay since we are on SS and pension. Had we been told that at the outset, we would not have proceeded with the surgery. Wasn't it Mayo's responsibilty at the time to check out if they would get paid? How do we get this debt dismissed?
  • Hello I own my Mobile home with a clean title but rent the space. I have been in the same park for four years. I am under a written month to month rental agreement that I signed in November of 2016. There is no expiration date on the rental agreement nor has it been terminated. New management has taken over and are treating all tenants as holdover. Since a month to month tenancy is self renewing, doesn't new management have to terminate the existing rental agreement before I am considered a holdover tenant? Further, they have issued a 14/30 cure quit notice on the demand to sign a lease.

  • I got a divorce about 7 years ago and it stated that my ex owes me some money but he has yet to pay in full. He had since moved to NC and gotten remarried. Can I go after them for the money? The decree doesn't state an expiration for the money to be paid but he refuses to make further payments to me. I also learned that he has recently bought a house. Can I put a lien out and file a document with the court to hold him in contempt for not paying me?

  • My sister died in April leaving her estate to 2 foster children. Her personal representative quit in May and no one has assumed control of the estate and he has not turned it over to anyone. I fear the home will go into foreclosure. I would like to have a private fiduciary take over, what do I have to do to make that happen? The foster children are listed as her only heirs, my brothers are furious, can they prevent a private fiduciary from assuming control and force the foreclosure and loss of her estate? I don't have funds to hire a lawyer, how can I get this accomplished?
