My boyfriend and I are leasing a new house. We had paid a pro-rated amount of rent for the end of June. The swamp cooler in the house had a broken pump and a handyman repaired the cooler on July 2nd. I have a question regarding The Uniform Services Former Spouses Protection Act. I retired from the military in 2010 and married my current spouse in 2012. We were not married nor had any relationship while I was on active duty. My question is, if my spouse and I are divorced is she protected under The Uniform Services Former Spouses Protection Act? Basically is she entitled to any portion of my retirement pay in case of a divorce?

I have a 4 year old, the father has been in prison for 4 yrs. His name isn't on the birth certificate, paternity has been established. went to court for child support. judge verdict; im financially responsible untill dads released.father was released dec 2012.we tried to work it out.I was the sole provider for him and my son financially.Father became physically abuse(towards me) had black outs, son was almost hit with a rock the last incident. no report filed , we moved states. dad is in prison till aug 27 2013(unrelated), what is best solution? full custody and restraining order??
