QUESTIONS

  • Is there a time limit(yrs,mths,etc.,)on getting a security deposit back from a prevous landlord?
  • My mother passed away. She does have a will and I was nominated as the executer and trustee. I am the sole beneficiary. She only has a bank account but when the account was setup nobody was on the account but her. no payable unpon death. What is required by the bank for me to access the account to begin paying for her expences? Her will did state that I shoud have immediate access without going through the courts.

I have made every payment but in Dec of 2010 the collection agency stopped cashing my checks. I have called several times and was told my account is closed. They will not tell me how much I owe or where I should send a payment to. After calling several times they hang up on me or put me on hold forever. What should I do? I've been paying for 5 years.

  • As a tenant am I able to send the owner a bill for time spent at the property assisting with maintenance and work done to repair numerous deferred maintenance issues? I calculated at least 55 hours whereby I was expected to be at the property when workers repaired faucets and broken pipes and the need to tear up and replace kitchen tiles, and more. I had to take time out from my work to help the owner fix her property - how can that be correct?

My husband and I had to miss work today because there is no water to clean up in... we need this man to fix his pipe... this is unhealthy for the rest of us... now it is costing me money... loss if work and I have to call a plumber because there is air in the lines.. so who do I contact to make this man repair this pipe.
