I and my children's father have been divorced for several years. The children are very comfortable with my boyfriend and I trust him explicitly. Recently, one of the children was injured at school. Administration attempted to contact me, but I was unavailable, as was my ex. My boyfriend is listed as an emergency contact but has no decision making rights over the kids. Can I afford him POA to make those decisions without the consent of my ex?

I live in a home that my mother bought for me 20yrs ago. The home is still in my mother's name who lives at a separate residence My oldest daughter got a divorce and had been living with her boyfriend at his parents house. Her and her boyfriend are both heroin addicts. Recently she called me needing my help and stating she wanted to change her life and get away from the heroin and her boyfriend. She swore she was serious. I told her this was her last chance with me and to make sure she's ready cuz I wont do it again. She has not stopped anything and I want her out of my house. What do i do?

I have a student loan from 1979, (GSL/private type student loan), that I had to stop making payments on. The loan was sold and collections activity has resumed from Navient. The contract states that the loan is cancelled upon death or disability. Can Navient sue me for repayment -take my car etc? Thank you.

I am a single mom of 4 children (20, 19, 13, & 10). I divorced the children's father almost 8 yrs ago. I have full sole custody, and he was granted supervised visitation 2 hrs a week. Soon after the divorce, he stopped seeing or contacting the children. He currently has 5 felony warrants in the state of AZ for drugs and such and owes large fines. He fled the state about 6 yrs ago. And has not been seen or heard from since then. I want to know what I can do in lieu of custody of my children in the event of my death. Obviously the older children are safe; however, my 2 younger children I am concerned about. They do not know him or even know what he looks like. A long time fear of mine is that he could come and take them from family and friends here. Am I able to leave them to a more capable and safe guardian? And if so, what can I do without racking up large attorney fees? Thanks so much.

I rent to own mobile home, the sewer line is connected to a sewer tank that comes with trailer, since the trailer is set doesn't the sewer lines need to be connected directly instead of the tank. Who's responsibility is it to fix it?

My husband has a 8 year old daughter ... and she lives with her mom but she dose not get the care she needs ... we have called cps to investigate the case.. but we have not gotten any more information on the case ... the social worker never picks up our calls or returns our messages.. we dont know what do his daughter wants to come live with us can my husband change her to a school near by with out legal paperwork and not get in trouble with law or where dose he need to go to try and get custody of his daughter we dont have the funds for a lawyer ... will he need a lawyer?

My husband and I are getting divorced and have 4 children under the age of 12. We have not been able to reach an agreement on custody and temporary orders  included that joint physical custody be granted. In addition, there are "parentling evaluations" scheduled . What is a "Parenting evaluation" and what kinds of questions should I expect? Will there be an opportunity for me to provide the evaluator with inforation? Thank you!
