My children are 15 and 9. I would like to take us on a trip to Europe. When looking at the passport papers it says I need the "other" parent to sign off on Form DS-3053, consent for a minor child to get a passport. My children's father hasn't had ANY contact with them in the past 9+ years. Is there a way around this? Can I file something with Arizona court? Doesn't the length of time count as abandonment by him? Thank you.

My landlord has sold the house I am renting. I have 10 months left on the lease. The new home-owner is not buying the house as "occupied". I have agreed to move out. Do the old homeowners owe me any sort of compensation because they broke the lease (comparable to what I would owe if I were the one breaking the lease)? I had about 1 weeks notice. Thanks!

I signed a month to month lease, but my landlord is now claiming that she made a "clerical error" and meant for the written agreement to be a year lease. She is not honoring my 30 day notice that I gave her in writing and claims I can not move out in a month. Can I pay my final month's rent and move out without penalty, and how can I ensure that she returns my deposit without taking her to court?

Our 19-year old son was arrested for aggrevated robbery. If he receives a sentence on parole, would he be able to live with us in Germany, in a controlled environment, and better chances of finding a job, or would he have to stay in AZ, where his chances of finding a job are slim, and he has no family or friends, who he could stay with?

My father (73) was diagnosed with lung cancer few months ago. I do not know how much time he has left. He owns a house in Mesa, and my sister lives with him. The house is under his name and he has a will that divides evrything he owns 50-50 between my sister and me. Now, when he passes away, can my sister still be in the house and assume mortgage payment? If my sister and I want to sell the house after my father's departure, can we do that? If so, how does that work?
