My landlord is trying to evict us for non-payment of rent. I called her and offered to pay her rent through a charity. She refused it and said that she does not accept rent from charities. Can I use this as a defense?

I am a victim of a ponzi scheme, lost all my money, am being sued by a friend, as if I was responsible, for fraud in Phoenix. Have spent countless hours trying to find an attorney to answer the complaint before it goes to a default judgement. Need desperately to talk to counsel.

I have been taking care of my two sisters for a year now. The mother and father are living together out of state. I went to court and have permanent guardianship. I was getting food stamps but the mother claimed the two girls on her case and the assistance got taken away. Can I file for child support? I am getting no help with raising these children.

I have been paying child support to my ex since the day our child has been born. We have split up since. I am worried that because I have not made the payments through the system that they are not going to count. How can I make sure what I have already paid and what I will be paying will be counted if she takes me to court? I have a girlfriend now and I believe when she finds out that is where we will end up.

My ex stole my dog. I adopted her while we were dating, her adoption paperwork is in my name ONLY. We have since broken up, and he took her without my permission and will not return her. One cop said it's theft of personal property, but suggested trying to deal with it directly with my ex first, then follow up if she wasn't returned. I followed up and the next cop I talked to said it's not theft of personal property because I adopted her while in the relationship with my ex, and the adoption paper doesn't matter even if my ex and I were never married so it's not a criminal issue. Is this true?

We live in Tucson, AZ, and my husband is going to file a divorce paper. We married in South Lake Tahoe, Ca. We have been married for 23 years. We both are not working, but he has a girlfriend during our marriage and she is working. My question is he told me he doesn't need to pay me his social security or any spousal support due to he doesn't work. Also since he bought the house before our marriage which we are living now. In my marriage, this house all the repair, utility, property tax are from our joint account. Now he told me I have no right to this house. It is true what he told me.

My boyfriend is currently incarcerated on a child support warrant(held on a $10000 cash only bond). I'm trying to fill out a modification for him. He used to make $24per hour in the construction field. He lost his good paying job in Dec 2009. He has been in & out of jail for the CS ever since. Besides collecting Unemployement the only job he was able to get for a brief period was only paying him $11.00 an hour. My questions are 1)Should I use the $11 per hr or the Unemployment as income for calculating his support mod? & 2)How long can a judge make him sit in Jail? There's NO WAY we can pay it.
