  • My 34 year old son is in debt and lives under my roof in a room I provide. I help him financially by gifting him funds from time to time. I do not claim him as a dependent and his finances are segregated from mine. I did not cosign any loan. He has been served and I expect that the court will issue a judgment. My question is, do I have to do anything special to protect my and my wife's goods from execution. Legally, they are ours, but how do I proceed if the sheriff attempts to grab them? Can he?
  • I was laid off and filed for UI April, 2011. I received a Severance Package from my employer that payed me my salary for a period of 7.25 months in a lump sum. Unemployment originally approved me receiving UI Compensation in April 2011. They reversed their decision when I applied in November 2011 for Federal extension. They based the reversal on ARS 23-621 and A.A.C. R6-3-55460 B. DES contends these codes deny UI for anyone while they receive Severance. They do not. Please take a look. My sorting out of the mess my claim is in continues to this day. I was referred to you by Channel12
  • My apartment is flooded from a leak in the roof. They had someone here earlier to try and locate the problem, but now the floor is saturated(carpet and the paint is bulging on the ceiling and the wall from water underneath. Can I move into other housing until it's repaired? They didn't even bring a fan over, and its getting wetter and wetter, I'm afraid that mold will start growing because It is very hot here, perfect for growing mold in wet plaster.

What is the likely hood of the courts making me leave him given the circumstances, and will they really separate siblings who have been together?
  • I have an employee that has co-signed for a loan with her son, the son has defaulted and is filing bankruptcy, the lender has not yet contacted her for repayment of the loan. She would like to be ready to do whatever she has to do to make this go away. She doesn't want to file for bankruptcy, but may have to. She is looking for a low cost/free help.   • My ex-wife and I were divorced in 2010 and our dissolution documents were very vague concerning my military retirement. It states that "each of the parties shall be awarded, a division of their respective share of military retirement accumulated between the date of marriage and date of separation." Since there was no percentage or amount specified, she is now trying to file a new Domestic relations Order in order for me to give her a portion of my retirement. What can I do in order to make sure it is divided equitable and fair, so I do not get steamrolled in this matter?

  • On behalf of my 60 yo disabled client; she has a rude, intimidating landlord that continually threatens to deliver a "notice" to the tenant. I called on behalf of tenant and the landlord hung up on me refusing to answer my questions. My client is scared of her landlord and feels threatened. She also reported he yells and knocks on her door inebriated. What can she do?
