QUESTIONS

  • My daughter and her family have been living with us for 4-1/2 year. They recently moved out but left a lot of belongings behind. What am I legally able to do with said belongings?
  • I signed a lease renewal in May 2019 that states (One year term), but the end date is incorrect, ending six months (November 30th) from the renewal date. My landlord is telling me that I have to renew again and pay associated fees to do so. Is my original renewal good for one year, or six months based on Arizona State law?
  • I have lived in the current house for 3 1/2 years. First 2 years we signed a lease. When it came time to sign a 3rd one the landlord said after 2 she doesn't require any more and we would just go month to month. We're have never been late. 6 months ago she raised our rent $125 to $1350. Now today she sent a text saying rental rates have gone up and starting next month she is raising it by $600 up to $1950. Nothing is that high in the area. I am a long haul truck driver. Only home 3 days a month. Don't know how I am going to be able to find a place, pack, and move in 3 days. Is this legal?

They want me to move in the middle of the month...my lease is up in 9/15 - they have given me no reason. Is this legal? Can they evict me? What can I do to stop this?   • I was arrested at a friends mobile home on a misdemeanor warrant. I went without a hassle or drama. The charge was disorderly conduct. I was out in 14 days, went back to the park where coincidentally i do not live, was told there was no problem with me being there. The kicker is that my friends, a couple of about 70 years old are now getting evicted because of it. Im beside myself. It is not right. Id willingly have them ban me from the park if my friends would not get evicted. Is there no hope for them ?
  • I live in a rental home. The A/C went out, the owner was notified, as well as management company, it's been 6 days and still not fixed. I went and purchased on day 2, 3 fans and a portable A/C unit, I have lost alot of fruits, pantry items too! The heat has also caused my laptop to stop working and it's so hot in the house to cook, we have been purchasing fast food, can I legally demand reimbursement for these things from the owner ?
  • Our 12 yr old grandson in NY has been in foster care for almost 2 years and the Child Protection department has filed for termination of parental rights against our daughter. We are grandparents living in AZ and have filed in NY a petition for custody against our daughter. I believe we filed for custody of our grandson against his mother prior to the petition for parental rights termination. Must the judge hear our custody petition first? If the court rules in our favor and gives us custody of our grandson will his placement with us be governed by the ICPC or will we be considered an exception? We cannot afford an attorney and NY will not appoint an attorney for us since we do not reside in NY.
  • Air conditioning has been out for 3 days- rental company will only pay us $30 a day to get a hotel. Understand they have up to 5 days to fix it, and then we can break our lease, which we do not want to do. However, we can't live in this environment. Home Owner waiting on home warranty company who is not cooperating. Don't know what to do.. Inside of home is 98 degrees & we have a small child (3 yrs), making it unsafe. We try to talk with rental company, they just get angry. What remedies do we have to get this repaired fast?

  • my husband wants to adopted my oldest son, he has been taking care of him since he was 3 years old. my son biological father pays child support but has not since my son for years now and my son wants nothing to do with him. would my husband be alt to adopted him we have been married for 2 years but have been together for more then 10 years .
