I share joint custody of my son with my ex husband. We agreed to a parenting schedule at the time of our divorce 2 yrs ago. Now, I'm engaged and will need to modify the parenting schedule. Can my ex prevent me from moving 100 miles away to live with my new husband when our original order read "must remain 25 miles or less". I have a job lined up as well. How much notice do I need to give to move with our son to our new home?(I have physical custody)

I am representing myself in a modification of child custody. We have a trial set for November of this year. Throught all of the proceedings my ex-husband has not responded or filed any countering affidavits. His wife is now saying she will represent him in court as she has power of attorney over him. He is out of the country for 3 years (the courts are aware of this) but he is not with the military. Does the POA give his wife any ability to represent him? File statements or court documents on his behalf?

We mailed in our divorce documents to the court, and when returned signed by the judge it doesn't have an Atlas number, or child support commence date. My ex wife claims she has it and it isn't given to the father paying child support. Did the child support not actually become obligatory? I have been paying directly by check because I have never recieved any further correspondence or direction from the court. Thank you!

86 y/o widow had a will and trust set up as a single woman 3 years ago. Last year the man she lives with had a will drawn up stating that he is married to the widow. Her will & trust have not been updated and no one in the family has seen any legal document that shows they are married. She has stock, a house & and money...he has very little. She is being treated for dementia but family does not know if she is truly competent to have married this man. If she dies will her will & trust be valid as is or not? Can he contest her will and claim community property?

I'm dealing with an illegal lockout, I reside in a nycha housing with my 83 yr old father and I have 4 people living in my house that's not on the lease. They locked my out from my residence and been taking my dads money, me and my dad are the only 2 that are on the lease.. A friend of mine told me I needed to go to housing court and I did that on 3/6/2015 the judge ruled in my favor, but when one of the occupants that are living in my apartment went and filed a partition against me of an order if protection stating I threatened my father and I can't be in the household.
