Child Support

questions & answers

Question: What do I do? The father of my child lied under oath about how much he makes working and how much he helps support our child and the judge did not ask for any type of paperwork of information to support what he claimed?

Answer: The following is provided for general information only. Because of the complexity and significance of support orders, it is recommended that you contact an attorney directly. You may wish to consult the Arizona Department of Economic Security: Division of Child Support Enforcement. They provide services, such as establishing the legal support order and enforcing the support order and collecting child support. They also have a packet for a request to modify the existing child support order. For more information about child support in Arizona, read ARS 25-320. Other statutory sections in ARS Title 25 address the topic of child support. ARS 25-1306 contains information about the procedures to contest the validity of the child support order. To read more about perjury, its definition and the criminal code, please look at ARS 13-2701.
