Child Support

questions & answers

Question: my sons father pays child support based on minimum wage (then $8.00 an hour)and him having our son 2 days a week. he has not had him in over a year and makes about $18 an hour now. how do I go about getting an increase in child support?

Answer: Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 25-503 governs child support orders and requests for modification.  You will need to go back to court and ask the judge to modify the child support order to give you more money.  Of course, your ex will be entitled to oppose the request.  Go to the website for Arizona Superior Court, access the self-help center and pull up the forms for family law.  There you will find form DRMSS11F.  This is the form to modify a child support order.  You will also find instructions on the child support work sheet.  The website is www.azcourts.gov.
