Question: Is there a time limit between filing a legal seperation and filing a divorce?

Answer: A petition for legal separation can be filed at any time. However, one cannot request marital dissolution until s/he has established domicile in Arizona for at least 90 days. Other than that, there is no "time limit." In fact, if one party objects to a mere legal separation, the court 'must' convert the matter into a divorce case once 90 days of domicile have elapsed. (A.R.S § 25-313(4)).
