Child Abuse & Neglect
questions & answers
Question: Hello my question is in regards to a civil suit. How does a 17 year old sue her grandfather whom was investigated for sexually abusing her but not arrested due to no physical evidence and him refusing to answer questions to investors
Answer: As a minor, you may not be able to sue an adult (grandfather) in a civil suit. If a complaint was made to the police and they didn't find enough evidence to charge him, they may not be able to charge his with sexual assault. Your parent(s) may be able to file suit on your behalf. You may wish to consult with an attorney.
