Emancipation

questions & answers

Question: If i want to get emancipated can an adult take finacial responsability for me?

Answer: When making the decision for granting emancipation, the court will look at what is best for the minor in this given situation. One aspect that is considered in this decision is the financial stability of the minor in question. According to ARS 12-2451 one way that the minor is able to show this is to financial stability is to “show proof of employment or other means of support.” Other means of support can mean financial support from another adult that is not your parent or legal guardian however it is always up to the discretion of the court to decide if this is a sufficient form of support. http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/12/02451.htm&Title=12&DocType=ARS
