Juvenile Courts
questions & answers
Question: my son was required to observe a criminal court docker in circuit court. He has to write a report about it and answer four questions. We don't understand one of the questions. Can you tell me what this question is asking? What have learned from this observation about the rights I am afforded and the responsibilities I have towards others?
Answer: The question appears to be referring to the rights that are granted to individuals both by the state and U.S. Constitution. Each citizen has certain inalienable rights given to them (afforded to them). An example of a right is the right to a trial. Rights also carry responsibilities. For example, it is a good citizens responsibility to follow the law. If a person fails to follow the law then rights can be taken away, a person can be sent to jail, lose the right to vote or the ability to bear arms.
