Question: I was recently applied for an internship toward a career in Network Administration, but was ineligible after a background check. I have a prior conviction from when I was 1995, which I had expunged in 1999. I am unsure of who to contact to get these record sealed so they don't bar me from employment further. I will have wasted years getting a degree in a field I can't get into! Thanks for your time to help and for any assistance you can give me.

Typically, even after setting aside a verdict, the record will remain in the history, but will be modified to show the verdict was changed and was set aside. Generally a convicted felon is still required to disclose to their future employer an expunged/set aside felony conviction if the application asks whether the appliacnt has a prior conviction.
