Question: Are corectional officers required to keep records of all conflicts and injuries within the facility? What happens if they loose a piece of evidance? What if this seems to be done on purpose?
Answer: They are required to keep records of all incidents. If they lose a piece of evidence it may be used in a lawsuit to prove up the case (i.e. intentional destruction of evidence, poor investigation, etc.) If done on purpose it could support the case against the officer.
