Question: I have a warrant for violation of probation in maricopa county. I live in pima county will they come and look for me in pima county? I am going to take care of this matter soon.
Answer: When an arrest warrant has been issued, this information becomes available to law enforcement nationwide (See NCIC, http://fas.org/irp/agency/doj/fbi/is/ncic.htm). If a warrant has been issued for your arrest and you are identified by law enforcement, then law enforcement is authorized to execute the arrest warrant (as required under the Forth Amendment). Therefore, an arrest warrant has no jurisdiction and can be executed in any county or state within the United States [See rule 4.1(2)]. If you would like to find an attorney in your area to discuss your specific issue, please visit the State Bar of Arizona website at http://www.azbar.org/.
