Question: I was handcuffed didn't go to jail. Now I got served 4 months later w/court papers saying I have to get fingerprint and 2 days later I have court. I request police report and was told they can't that I would have to contact state prosecutor because of ongoing investigation. Please help
Answer: The County Attorney's can take the necessary time to investigate and determine whether to pursue the case or discharge based on what the investigation produces. Police do not make the final decision whether to pursue charges the County Attorney and Attorney Generals Office decides so you would need to contact the state to figure out whether their investigation is complete and whether they are moving forward.
