Eviction
questions & answers
Question: My landlord served me and 30 day eviction notice cause we will not sign in active lease after doing month to month cause we are purchasing a home and closing after the vacated date
Answer: A 30-day notice is a notice of termination of the rental agreement, not an eviction. When a tenant is residing in a dwelling on a month-to-month rental agreement, the landlord has a legal right to end that agreement with at least 30 days’ notice (A.R.S. 33-1375). A tenant who wishes to continue to reside in a dwelling after the landlord’s stated termination date has the option to negotiate an extension with the landlord (on the landlord’s terms) or leave.
