Foreclosure

questions & answers

Question: We lost our home a year and a half ago through foreclosure. They had strung us a long promissing to help, we didn't know there was other help out there. Is there a way to get the home back (it's not sold), is there any type of assistance for people who are already "homeless" We got a notice for settlement payment - is this our only option for assistance?

Answer: Unfortunately, there is no way for you to get your home back. Even though you say the home hasn't been "sold," technically, Countrywide owns it now because they "purchased" it at a foreclosure sale. I'm not sure what you are referring to by a "notice for settlement payment," so I can't help with that portion of your question. The Arizona Department of Housing provides free assistance to people who have been foreclosed or who are in the process of foreclosure. You can go here for more information.
