Question: my public defender ask for sexual favors and lead me to belive i would go to jail if i did not aggree

Answer: Arizona attorneys are required to follow rules that define the professional conduct and standards expected of them. Under these rules, specifically, Ethics Rule 1.8 j “A lawyer shall not have sexual relations with a client unless a consensual sexual relationship existed between them when the client-lawyer relationship commenced.” Concerns about an Arizona attorney’s unprofessional conduct can be reported by calling the State Bar of Arizona's Attorney/Consumer Assistance Program at (602)340-7280, or (866) 482-9227 (outside of Maricopa County).
