Food Stamps, Cash Assistance
questions & answers
Question: I have been approved for AHCCCS/ALTC, can I now receive food stamps?
Answer: When an individual applies for AHCCCS through this link , the option is presented to the applicant as to what programs he or she wishes to apply for. For instance, an individual has the option to apply for both, AHCCCS and Nutrition Assistance (food stamps) in one application if he or she chooses to do so. According to the healthearizona call center, if an individual only applied for AHCCCS on his or her initial application, and now wishes to receive Nutrition Assistance, then the individual will have to submit and new application in order to begin receiving Nutrition Assistance. The phone number for the call center is (602) 417-4199.
