Does the landlord have the right to change locks on my buisness without notice.Have not paid my rent.Am trying to make arrangements.

I was told I had to pay a "holding deposit" of $600 & sign a lease for a property that I needed to rent but was unable to do a walk thru in because the existing tenants were still occupying the property. I was told I could cancel at any time prior to my move in date 8/5/13; I cancelled on 7/20/13 & am being told I will not get any of my deposit back. What can I do?

My landlord wants to prorate my end of lease for an additional 3 days. I turned in my 60 notice well before my 60 days was even near. I sent numerous emails regarding my 60 day notice and never heard any response and she is claiming she never received them even though I sent her proof of every email I sent her. I have been courteous and have paid the rent every month and have never been late. What are my rights as a tenant to to make sure I'm not overcharged on the proration?

I recently moved out of a rental home 10/31, my understanding is the landlord has 14 days to either return your security deposit of supply a document showing the deductions we did not receive anything until 10/31 and it came in the form of a email not a letter, they said they had mailed it but we did not receive it and I have email showing it was clearly if it was mailed at all it was sent well after the 14 days. I am trying to understand the tenant law is it correct because they didn't comply with the 14 days I can get all deposit of the back ?

My Mother lived in and owned property in Sun City, AZ for about 30 yrs. She had two living children whom have had a rather toxic relationship. She had a living trust and her son is named Successor Trustee. In 2003 she suffered a small stroke and (while still mentally alert) she had a problem with her speaking ability. As a result, she retired as Trustee and named her son who divides his time between New Mexico and Alaska. Her son physically relocated her to New Mexico about 10 months before she passed in Feb. 2011. He had sold her property in AZ in Sept 2010 but moved all her personal belongings to his property in NM prior to that date. Her remains are interred in AZ. Which state would have jurisdiction if a probate proceeding is necessary? (i.e.- Say the Successor Trustee fails to act?)

I made my property manager aware of plumbing issues and the foundation of the home caving, he said he'd send a plumber. He didn't and did nothing about the foundation, I'm currently renting a motel rm. How can I be protected by this? What laws protect me?
