QUESTIONS

  • I was living at my father's house with my family lease and rent free. There was a fire and everything was destroyed. He has 20000 in personal property damage coverage. The insurance company is refusing to pay for our belongings because they said he isn't residing there. If he is receiving mail there and has a utility on in his name at that address and the bill is mailed to him at the same address is that considered as him residing there?
  • I have joint custody of my 2 older children, my youngest child I am engaged to her father and we are living together. My two oldest children's fathers pay child support well one does other hasn't and don't. My oldest child father is involved but my 2nd child father hasn't called, hasn't seen her,nothing in like 6 years (she doesn't want to see him). All children live with me and my fiance. I was wondering if my fiance could adopt them with me so we both have custody of them together & how would the child support work?

  • I cohabitated with my domestic partner (DP) age 54 for 16 years.  To our friends and co-workers, we were a married couple.  Then, five years ago, my DP started a sexual relationship with a female co-worker, age 28.  The affair took on a whole new situation four years ago when she gave birth to a baby girl.  When teh baby was approximately six months old, I wanted to meet the child because my DP and I had remained together.  As it turned out, I fell in love with her as the months and years rolled by and, for the most part, my DP, the child, and I were a happy family on visiting days.  Nine weeks ago, he moved with her.  Can I ask for vistation in court?

  • Landlord falsely advertised well water for property. Saw a water delivery truck come to our yard. Questioned landlord. Said “his mistake” well dried up 2 years ago. Now expects us to pay for water delivery. Is that legal?
  • Today is Saturday we have no power or running water land lord doesnt know how long it will take to fix do they have to furnish us a place to stay until it is fixed?
  • i was renting a duplex privately owned with my b/f of 9 years. we had an argument,it got violent on his end and the neighbors. i left. he asked me to come back aug 1st 2015. the neighbor got violent i left. at that time they took the fence/gate key away but not my house keys. and I had paid rent for july but was not on the mo to mo lease.they then stole my Aug rent from me by entering my vehicle without my ok. i have been trying to get my stuff out. but they will not let me. i have gotten my clothes. coats. but my furn, jewelry etc. is still there..what are my rights? as im scared.
  • my ex filed for a order of protection and was granted it against me for him and my kids the year is now up and i need to know how to get my babies back i tried to file to get the order dropped but could not get to the courthouse to do it now i havent seen my kids in 12 months please help
  • My refrigerator has stopped working since Jan 27,2018 (Sat) I have made reports to the agent who is in control of the unit. She has informed me that they will have to buy a new fridge but has not given me any specific time line for when this fridge is to be bought n delivered. I spoke with her on the issue yesterday voicing my concerns and she hang up on me. I have withhold my months rent which was due yesterday, and sent her a 10 days repairs form to which she has not responded. I have been buying daily food items to eat and have lost over $250 currently on items that was refrigerated.
  • I own a property, not my main residence, that was part of a 2010 C7 bankruptcy. We reaffirmed and kept the property. We have made all of the payments since, but in the past year our finances have declined. We have tried to rent the property without much success and we have paid over $6000 above the properties income to maintain it. It is empty again and we simply cannot continue to pay the mortgage and HOA any more. It is worth about what I owe. Can I allow the property to go to foreclosure or short sale after being part of a bankruptcy?
  • I have been married for nine yrs. I worked at a job for 28 1/2 yrs. before we were married. I received a 30 yr. pension which I still get every month like wages. If I file for divorce would she be able to steal part of my retirement pension even though we only gained 300 dollars of it while we were married,and if so could she start getting have my pension before we were divorced?
