QUESTIONS

  • I rent a studio apt for 375 a month and have never been late. I told the landlord I can pay on my next check (rent is due on the 18th) but he said if I don't pay by the 23rd he will start the eviction process but he won't if I give him half. I don't even have that to give him can he do that
  • I evicted a roommate and gave them 21 days to remove all of their belongings from my property. It was stated in the eviction notice, and agreed upon, that if after that period the belongings were not collected, that I had the right to dispose of said property as I see fit. The 21 day period ended September 2nd 2013. It is now October 17 and this person in threatening to take me to court because I will not allow collection of the property. Does he have the right to do that? What are my rights?
  • I'm a school counselor and over the semester I've gotten to know my students. One in particular has a mother in Mexico, and is living home to home currently. Her current living situation is temporary. She's over 14 and wants a stable home. I'm willing and able to be a guardian. Would school policy, district policy, or situations where the child is not related to the guardian be an issue? Would a lawyer be recommended to aid this process?
  • My wife passed and she had a Capital one account with $2381.00 in a account. I have tried to transfer monies to my account and also hired a attorney to draft a letter to release funds and they refuse to send they said I need to go through probate. I paid off her car and sold home but this account is still open and Capital one will not release money.
  • How long do I have before they put a padlock on my door my eviction was on Tuesday for court and I didn't show up cuz I was in the hospital with my newborn
  • where is the food stamp office located?
  • I live on an apartment complex that has individually owned units but one HOA that covers the entire complex. The pool has been out of use all summer (green and disgusting), despite numerous complaints. Today, I noticed a flyer from the Maricopa County Environmental Health Department that the pool was closed by the county because it is in violation of health codes. Is there some way I can get my rent reduced because of the lack of access to the pool? Considering I chose this location and agreed to the higher cost of living because there was a pool at the complex. Just curious about my rights.
  • My ex-boyfriend signed the acknowledgement of paternity for my son even though he was not the biological father. Is there a way to disprove the paternity and have his rights to my son terminated?
  • My spouse signed a personal guarantee for his business (an AZ LLC). If his debtor tries to collect, what is at risk? If we have been married for more than 15 Years, is our property or just his at risk?
  • Divorce decree states my ex is to pay half of a credit card bill either in monthly payments or half of the balance. He is not paying me or the credit card company. The only payments he made were during the time we still lived together. I deducted his half of the payment from my half of the monthly bills. How can I get the court to enforce what is on the decree? Also, I no longer reside in the state of Arizona and do not have money for an attorney. Thank you.
