  • Hi I recently moved into a rental home and things are continuously going wrong. We went without A/C for 4 days before it was fixed, the electrical sockets in the bathroom go on and off continuously on their own for days at a time and we have a toilet that leaks. At what point can we terminate a lease and still get our security deposit back? The landlord expects these things to be fixed by us first then her then a professional. I know nothing about electrical things so now its her turn to look before a professional each time takes days-weeks to fix.

  • My boyfriend was renting a condo, he was the only one on the lease, he got arrested and the landlord talked to him amd he gave the ok to add me to the lease.   • i would like to know if these siuations would be considered a form of child abuse. I consider them, but not sure if my view is correct. First to lock a child in there bedroom from 7 pm to 7 am note child is 4 yrs old. and has child is potty trained but must pee in room or in there pants to relieve themselves.   • I filed for ch. 7 bankruptcy and my debts were discharged on June 2011. To this date I'm badly behind on my house payments, and my lender offers me a reduced monthly payment of $350. The problem is that my lender does not want to make any promises in writing and does not give me straight answers on what happens if I keep my end of the deal. I'm affraid my lender will simply foreclose when it may fit its interest, disregard of my needs. Also, it is wise to enter into any deals post bankruptcy if my debts are discharded already and thus, uncollectable? Thanks!

  • I was arrested for a gun charge when I was 19. The case against me was dismissed with prejudice. The arrest is showing up when a background check is completed for work. How can I get the arrest expunged? This record is preventing employment.
  • I had a one year lease. I had a clause put in stating that. At the end of lease we had the option to extend the lease with no rent increase for 6 months if paid in advance. I excercised that right. Gave letter and check(6 months rent). They tried to make me sign a new lease for one year at a large rental increase. I refused. Now my 6 month lease is up in 2 weeks. Recieved letter stating, I owe $600.00 plus late charges for last months rent. I have a contract. They sent me eviction for nonpayment five day letter. What do I do? I have to pay rent what amount?
  • My room mate did not pay rent. My apt manager and I agreed to let her out of the lease today. Nov 1st, she did not pay Nov rent and refuses to. Can I change locks? I have given her the weekend to come get her things and she has agreed to that. If she does not come to get her things can I change locks on Monday so she doesn't come and go? She has agreed 3 times now with a date to come get her things and never shows up. I have all saved texts. I just wamt to change locks and have her get her things now with me home. Is this Ok?
  • My home was in the middle of probate when they sold it so prior to bank sold it to company and because there wasn't somebody legally responsible for the loan hence I had to probate it before anybody at company would discuss it with me, and they granted me executorship a week after the sale. I then had a stroke and was in hospital, court papers scheduled in a few days to go to court. I want to keep my house of 17years what can I do? Please help fast. I am a widower of a vet and on disability as well.
