QUESTIONS

  • Do I qualify for FMLA if I am struggling with a child custody in another county and I need to be out of work for an extended time?
  • I lost my job and am unable to pay my lease. What happens if I break a lease, yet there isn't a provision in lease regarding breaking the lease.
  • How do I get guardianship of a minor child?
  • My ex is smi ( seriously mentally ill) and have suicidal tendencies and is a heroin addict and have multiple domestic violence against her. Could she refuse to let me see or speak to my daughter and take sole custody of her?
  • My children (14 & 17) just started overnights with their father. After a 9 month period where he didn't visit them at all. He has a live in girlfriend and 1 year old child with her. He is now in the habit of leaving my kids to babysit the 1 year old and go out with his girlfriend during his visitation. He and his girlfriend go out drinking. They have a domestic violence history (but more than 2 years ago) involving alcohol both times. Can I prevent this in any way? Isn't visitation supposed to be for my kids to spend time with their father, not babysitting his new kid until midnight/later?
  • My mother's second husband (married 3 years) agrees with my brothers and I that my mother has progressing memory degeneration. We have asked her to get a check up for her own good. Her husband will not help us get her to go for a check up. Is there anything we can do?
  • My son was terminated from his job for "reporting late to work". He was never given any verbal warning about the possibility of being fired until the day it happened. There were other workers at his place of employment who had, in the past, not shown up for work at all without even calling the employer and are still employed. In you oppinion is he eligible for unemployment compensation?
  • My mother, who lives in Wisconsin, has guardianship of her minor grandson. She has been his guardian for about 7 years (since the death of his father in 2007). The minor's biological mother is living, but her whereabouts has been unknown for the same time. My mother is currently receiving financial support from the state for the minor. My mother also has to re-apply each year to continue guardianship. My mother wants to relocate to Arizona with the minor. My question is: 1.can my mother leave the state of Wisconsin with the minor?
  • My wife and I are divorcing and we currently have three adopted children and are currently fostering another- underkinship care. My wife does not want to adopt him and I do. I plan to adopt him. She has stated that she will complain he has molested and beat up the other kids in the home to have him removed. There is only one incident that has been recorded with CPS. She has not told me or the case worker of anything else. Can I adopt him even after we are divorced and how do I protect him against untruths?
  • I want to know how and where to proceed with collecting my money that was finalized with my divorce such as the 401k plan that I was awarded and my child support for 1,064 dollars a month that I havent recieved and if there is a time frame in collecting this money
