  • My boyfriend's grandmother moved in with us about a year ago. We go on vacation in NY every year. She wants to stay here alone. Her doctor said she was no longer able to live alone.I don't want her to stay here alone:. My boyfriend is her POA and he is okay with her staying here while we are gone. My question is if anything happens to her while we are away., such as a fall, fire, break in anything really are we liable? What are the laws on this and where can I find information on my legal responsibility?
  • I am currently renting out my home to a couple and they have violated the rental agreement on a number or accounts. They have decided to make "repairs"/"upgrades" to my property without my authorization. They have a pet which is against the terms of the lease. They are also consistently late with their rent. Am I within my rights to given them a notice to vacate the property due to breach of the leasing agreement? If so, how many days notice do I have to provide?

After 8 months we have decided that this is no longer what we want and have served him his 30 day notice to vacate. We clearly have it stated in the lease that the tenant shall not have overnight guests for more than 2 nights in a one week period. Can I call the cops and have her escorted off our property?

Our landlord is deducting from our deposit depreciation for the carpet. we lived there three years and in those 3 years we had the kids rooms get a couple small stain. He used the money for personal gratification (ie, trips out of the country) Because of reported neglect, (ie she was hospitalized as a result of the neglect) she now lives in MN. with me. What are her rights? Can he be liable for debts he incurred by taking cash advances from the cc account which his name was not on?

Earlier this year, when I went to file my 2013 taxes, I was advised that someone had already claimed my daughter's social security number. What are my next best steps? And no, I have not yet filed my 2013 taxes and she has admitted to this crime. Can I take her to court? Should I file anyway and let the IRS catch her?
