QUESTIONS

  • My husband has a child from a previous relationship. We aren't positive that the child is actually his. He is a resident of Arizona, the mother lives in Washington state along with the child. My question is this, which state , Arizona or Washington, would have jurisdiction to decide Child Support payments and establishing paternity?
  • My son wants me to help him with custody of his baby under a year old and unborn baby. He is not married to the mother. He is on the birth certificate of the first born. The reason he is asking me to help is he has a long history of being in trouble with the law and is currentl on adult probabtion. He is currently working and doing good, but knows the courts would frown on his past. Would the courts consider giving me tempory guardianship or help with the custody. The mother is threating to move out of state with the kids, so my son wants to know his rights andif he has any from preventing that
  • I am planning to leave my partner, who is verbally and sometimes physically abusive. We live together with our 4 year old daughter. If I take my daughter to live somewhere else (in state) would it be considered kidnapping? I plan on getting an emergency order of protection the following day as soon as the court opens. I want to make sure I am not breaking any law by removing her from her home.
  • So, I have a almost 2 year old. I had my rights severed sadly, and I wasn't able to get her birth certificate done at the time. My parents are thankfully adopting her, but I was wondering if I can still have my name as her birth mother, and her biological dad on her birth certificate, that way when she gets older she is able to know that we are her parents. Also, my mother who is adopting my daughter said that, because my parents are adopting her, that her last name will not be under my daughters biological fathers last name, that it will be under my parents last name. Is that correct?
  • My landlord has not paid property taxes this year and is behind on the morgage pymts. The house is not in foreclosure yet. Does he still have the right to evict me for non-pymnt. ?
  • I was born & raised in Phoenix, Az. When I was born my mom thought my dad sent in my paper for birth certificate and my dad thought my mom sent it in. In all reality it didn't get sent in at all, in the required time frame deadline so now my birth certificate reads (not named) and my last name with all of the other info re: my birth (parents names, etc) How do I get my first & middle name added to my birth certificate? I need to have this done for the new Real ID & so I can switch things over to a new state. ( driver lic, etc) can this be done from out of state & how much would it cost? Thanks
  • I'm paying childsupport for my 4 children in tucson, now there mother is just going to get up move on friday to lake havasu can se do that & if so how can i get join custody "kids dont want to move".
  • My girlfriend was married, but had not seen her husband for over two years when we had a child. I am on the birth certificate and acknowledgement of paternity. Would her now ex husband still be presummed the father?
  • My now husband bought a home in 2007 at the peak of the market (before we were married). We can no longer afford the house payment and are now married but only his name still exists on the title. If he forecloses on the home, will both our credit be affected although we got married after he bought the home and the title is still only in his name?
  • We now have had a plumber come out to the house 4 times in two months. The plumber has told our landlord that the pipes need seriously fixed for quite some time now. Our landlord refuses to fix it and we are now again calling out the plumber. Does our landlord have to fix this issue?
